Toucher & Rich: Joe Haggerty: Will Bergeron Play Tonight?
The Boston Bruins prepare to take on the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Toucher & Rich spoke with Joe Haggerty about tonight's Game 2, Patrice Bergeron's health and Tomas Kaberle's performance throughout the playoffs.
The guys discussed Bergeron's status since suffering a mild concussion in Game 4 against the Philadelphia Flyers. He practiced on Monday, but sat out the contact drills. Will he take the ice tonight for Game 2?
Haggerty also told the guys about how the Bruins looked in practice yesterday. Tyler Seguin practiced with the power play, will he see some extra ice time to help a Bruin's power play that is just 2-for41 this postseason?
"He was on the power play a little bit, it was more of an observational role with the two units," Haggs said. "What that tells me is he's probably not going to start the game on either one of those power plays, but if they cough up a couple furballs like the other night... you might see Tyler Seguin on the power play at some point in the game."
"It makes zero sense for you to play Tyler Seguin and not have him on the power play, because that's where he can help you the most," added Haggerty.
They also talked about what the lines might look like tonight.
Kaberle coughed up the puck behind his own net in Game 1 which led to a goal. Is He hurting this team more than helping, and what can the Bruins do with him at this point?
