Toucher & Rich: Fred Has A Message For Haters

Toucher & Rich received an email earlier this week asking if they'd like to talk to former Celtics head coach and current Louisville coach Rick Pitino, who was looking to talk about his new book release.

Pitino's career in Boston was less than successful and Fred had an idea moments before the interview to let the coach know what some think of him.

Fred: We are joined by Rick Pitino, former coach of the Celtics, current coach of the Louisville Cardinals who won the national championship. Rick Pitino, hello!

Pitino: Morning, guys.

Fred: You stink. You ruined the Celtics.

And that was the end of the interview.

Those few seconds of radio has received a lot of press over the country, with some happy Fred gave Pitino the business while others very critical of the move.

Fred's the first one to admit it was stupid, and wants all the haters to relax a bit.

"I don't care about Rick Pitino," said Fred. "When I first booked him it didn't occur to me how much he is hated around here."

"People are like 'it was dumb.' No kidding it was dumb," he said. "Do you understand how little thought went into that? It was no thought. And then you idiots writing about it and talking about it and playing it, the audience loved it!"

"I read every negative tweet and text that comes in. I was having a ball yesterday, I have never had more fun. Everyone was praising me."

"People saying 'this is what radio has become,' go to hell," he ranted on. "I hung up on Rick Pititno -- big deal, he's a basketball coach. Ask him the hard questions? I have five minutes with him from some stupid press junket talking about some dumb self-help book. Two minutes in, I said I didn't want to interview this guy."
