Toucher & Rich: Fireman Ed Hanging Up His Helmet
BOSTON (CBS) - If New York Jets fans want to do the "J-E-T-S" chant, they'll have to find a new leader.
Following the New York's 49-19 loss to the Patriots on Thanksgiving night, "Fireman Ed" has decided to hang up his fireman's helmet.
In a guest column for Metro New York newspaper on Sunday, Ed Anzalone wrote he will no longer lead the "J-E-T-S!" chants at home games, or more importantly, wear his firefighter's hat because the stadium is becoming too divided.
Anzalone wrote that "confrontations" between him and other fans "have become more common," mostly thanks to the quarterback controversy. Ed, who started to wear a Mark Sanchez jersey this season, has been getting a lot of guff for supporting the troubled QB.
So, Toucher and Rich take some time to share their thoughts on the former Jets Super Fan #1, and Jets fans in general.
What could Ed be up to in the future? T&R have a few of their own ideas…
