Toucher & Rich: Concerned About Brady's Safety?
The Patriots play their third preseason game Friday night in Tampa Bay against the Buccaneers and this is the game where the starters play the most.
Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe spoke with 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich about what to look for in this game, Wes Welker, Jeff Demps and the offensive line.
Starters will be playing in this game for the longest time tonight and the guys ask Shalise what they should be looking for out of the Patriots.
"You'll definitely see Tom Brady. I think of of the I'll be interested to see is if Wes Welker plays or not. He did not take part in practice yesterday, he was an observer on the sidelines even though the players were in shells and shorts and it seemed like it was a very low tempo practice. He was not taking part from what we saw, so I think that's something to take a look at. Is it something serious, probably not."
One player fan are excited to see is Jeff Demps. The Patriots signed Demps late last week and he was unavailable for the second preseason game this past Monday. In his first practice on Wednesday he dropped his fair share of ball, but will we get to see him tonight?
"Maybe they throw him out there later in the game just to see what he can do or maybe they don't, I wish had a better answer."
The offensive line hasn't performed that well so far this preseason. Will the personnel be different tonight and is Shalise concerned about Tom Brady's safety?
"I would expect we see Logan Mankins, I don't know if we would see Sebastian Vollmer just yet, but I do have concerns and I think they're warranted in some way."
Plus, how important is it for Brady to work with Brandon Lloyd tonight?
