Toucher & Rich: Chris Gasper On Mayo 'He'll Be Back Before 6 Weeks'
The Patriots left Oakland with the win in spite of the defense who gave up over 500 yards to the Raiders. Now the Patriots return home to host the New York Jets this Sunday.
Chris Gasper spoke with Toucher & Rich about the issues on defense, Jerod Mayo's injury and Albert Haynesworth.
Linebacker Jerod Mayo hurt his MCL in his left knee during Sunday's game in Oakland and is said to be out for about 6 weeks. How much is this going to hurt the Pats while he's out?
"I think it's going to hurt them a great deal. I will say this, I think he'll be back before 6 weeks and I'm basing that on he had this injury in 2009 he missed 3 weeks and he was doing some pretty creative stuff to try and get back," Gasper said.
The Patriots were able to go 14-2 last season thanks to a great year from Tom Brady, but with year's defense keep the team from much success this year. They also talked about Albert Haynesworth and hi injury. Will Hayesworth be able to give this team what they need consistently?
The New York Jets roll into Gillette this Sunday after a tough loss against Baltimore. Rex Ryan came out and said that they'll look to ground and pound more. Will they be able to run on the Pats?
All this and more with Chris Gasper.
