Toucher & Rich: Bob Beers On Tonight's Must Win Game 7

The Boston Bruins had the chance to put the Tampa Bay Lightning away in Game 6, but the Lightning were able to force a Game 7.

"People say they blew a chance," said Beers of the Bruins losing Game 6. "There's another team on the other side of things that have something to say about it. There are some pretty good players over there. Their not in this position unless they're a good team."

Bob Beers spoke with Toucher & Rich about Friday night's Game 7. How positive is Beers that the Bruins pull out the win?

"I feel positive, why not? They're in a great position right now. The opportunity to play in a Game 7, you dream about it as a kid," said the eight-year NHL veteran.

Bruins defenseman Johnny Boychuk was on the ice for all 5 of Tampa's goals in Game 6, was he still banged up from the Game 5 hit?

"He was on the ice for all the goals, but was really a victim of circumstance," said Beers. "He plays so hard and gives everything he can but sometimes in doing that, you run out of position. You have to play with intensity and the heart, but you have to play with your head."

They also discussed this Bruins power play that has struggled all throughout these playoffs. What does Beers think the B's should try in this need to win Game 7?

What about the fact that Mark Recchi seemed to struggle in Game 6?

"I expect him to play early, and if he doesn't have it, you probably have to make a change," Beers said of the 43-year-old Recchi. "He's earned the right to have the opportunity to show it, and I know he's struggled this series, but at the same time he's a guy you want out there in a crucial situation, if he's going. If he doesn't show that jump early on, you may have to back off of his ice time."
