Toucher & Rich: Andy Hart On Who's Fighting For A Roster Spot
BOSTON (CBS) - The Patriots pre-season starts next Thursday with a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Gillette Stadium.
Andy Hart of Patriots Football Weekly spoke with Fred, Dan Roche and Wallach Friday about Patriots training camp, injuries and Nate Solder.
Who are some of the players that are not guaranteed a spot on the roster?
"One of the positions you look at is running back where the veteran guys just kind of got out there yesterday, but Sammy Morris and Kevin Faulk I wouldn't say are locks to make this team," said Hart.
"I think you look in the secondary. I think there's going to be a lot of competition in the secondary for jobs and playing time. Guys like Darius Butler, Jonathan Wilhite will kind of be battling for those 4th, 5th corner jobs, slot corner jobs."
They also talked about Brandon Meriweather getting dinged up in training camp the other day.
Does that hurt him at this time of year with the short preparation time this season?
The guys also discussed the left tackle position and Matt Light returning.
If Nate Solder had signed earlier would he have had the chance to have more success?
The Albert Haynesworth signing was also a topic of discussion.
Do the Patriots need to make another signing to help out the defensive line?
