Toucher and Rich: Jack Edwards' Promise If Bruins Win Game 5
BOSTON (CBS) – A Game 5 win for the Bruins has a whole new meaning for Bruins fans.
Not only will it give the Bruins a 3-2 lead in the Stanley Cup Finals and a chance to hoist the Cup Monday night at the Garden, it means a new edition of "New Jack" Edwards on Toucher and Rich.
"It rides on Game 5," Edwards told 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher and Rich Friday morning. "If it's thumbs up tonight in Vancouver, we'll do it. I don't want to get cocky if they're down a game in Game 6."
Fair enough. The way the Bruins have been playing the last two games, Rich should get that script ready.
"A lot of things opened up and they exposed some weaknesses in Vancouver," Edwards said of the Bruins two games in Boston.
One of the reasons was the Bruins ramped up physical play, and that can be directly related to Shawn Thornton hitting the ice.
"Any time Shawn Thornton plays, he's going to have an impact," said Edwards. "One certainly gets the feeling that the Bruins have imposed their physical will and if, IF, they can do that tonight, I think Vancouver is in a whole heap of trouble."

Edwards said keys to a victory Friday night will depend on the Bruins keeping the puck out of their zone, which they did in the two games in Boston, putting more pressure on Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo.
Edwards does expect Vancouver to pick up their physicality though, starting with the Sedin twins.
"If I'm Alain Vigneault, I quietly and privately go to Sedins and say what Recchi has said for years, 'get out of your comfort zones'," he said. "I am expecting them to finish their checks, get involved physically, and make more contact to slow Bruins down."
