Tornado damage found in North Attleboro, multiple Rhode Island towns
NORTH ATTLEBORO - The National Weather Service confirmed four tornadoes touched down in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts on Wednesday. There were no reports of serious damage in the area.
In North Attleboro, an EF0 tornado with maximum wind speeds of 75 mph briefly touched down on Ellis Road which caused tree damage south of High Street. According to the NWS, the path was .07 miles.
Homeowners in the area told the survey team they saw sheets of rain change direction before seeking shelter.
This is the ninth tornado to touch down in Massachusetts this year.
Two EF1 tornadoes touched down in Glocester and Lincoln, Rhode Island with maximum wind speeds of 100 mph.
Another EF1 tornado began in Killingly, Connecticut before dissipating in Foster, Rhode Island. The tornado was on the ground for 1.61 miles and the maximum wind speeds were 100 mph.
