Top Hiking Trails Around Boston: Part 2

We recently told you about the top trails to go hiking around Boston and there are so many great places, we thought we would share part two of the top trails. Here's a roundup of hiking spots (ordered by acreage) around Boston – all are within the 93/95 loop around the city.

Stony Brook Reservation

Stony Brook Reservation in Hyde Park and West Roxbury offers 10-12 miles of hiking trails, bike paths, and recreational facilities through 475 acres.

Prospect Hill Park

Prospect Hill Park in Waltham is a regional community park including over 250 acres of natural woodlands. In addition to walking trails and scenic vistas, the base area includes a picnic area and playground.

Salem Woods

Salem Woods includes about 160 acres of woods and wetlands. Adjacent to the woods is the Forest River Conservation Area in Marblehead, which spans about 25 acres and includes walking trails.

Belle Isle Marsh Reservation

The Belle Isle Marsh Reservation in East Boston spans 152 acres of the 241-acre Belle Isle Marsh, Boston's last remaining salt marsh. This reservation sits within a busy urban community just north of Logan airport.

Webster Conservation Area and Hammond Pond Reservation in Newton

Just north of the chic hustle and bustle of the Chestnut Hill shopping area lies Webster Conservation Area. At 114 acres, Webster is the largest conservation area in Newton, and the adjacent Hammond Pond Reservation is maintained by the DCR.
