Top 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender Arrested In Plymouth
TAUNTON (CBS) - State Police captured one of Massachusetts' top ten most wanted sex offenders on Friday.
Officials say troopers from the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section arrested Michael P. Cunningham, 31, in Plymouth.
He was wanted on charges of failing to register as a sex offender and on a warrant out of Taunton from 2011.
Cunningham was classified as a Level 3 Sex Offender after he was convicted of Indecent Assault & Battery for a 2002 sex assault incident involving a 15-year-old. State Police say he has a lengthy and violent criminal history dating back to when he was a minor.
The warrant out of Taunton was for allegedly kidnapping his ex-girlfriend. Police say the victim in that attack suffered extensive injuries, including a broken clavicle and apparent choke marks around her neck.
Charges from the alleged incident include kidnapping, two counts of aggravated assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Cunningham will be arraigned in Taunton District Court on Monday.
