Too Warm...

I'd like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays...and thank you for contributing to our social media through the year.

For you snow lovers, I wish I had better news but once again the lack of cold air is glaring and there simply won't be much snow from this moisture loaded storm.  It is juicy...coming out of the Gulf of Mexico...another inch or more of rain is likely for Southern NE.  The gale center will pass south of us and will draw in cold to its center but it will be too little too late.  Areas that will see enough snow to coat the ground will be around 495 and NW of there.  Elevated areas in Worcester County will pick up more snow...due to the colder air...1-2" is likely.  The greatest amounts will occur in the Monadnock Region, Southern VT and the Berks...2-4+" looks about right.

The good news, what ever does fall in those spots will not melt away by Christmas, so some areas of New England will have a white one.  Temps over the weekend will not get out of the 30s.  There will also be some coastal flurries from ocean effect on Saturday and I suppose some additional coatings will be possible in SE Mass.  As for Christmas, the potential storm will stay far away...quiet and good travel weather here in New England with highs in the upper 30s.  Early next week, a clipper type system will blow up offshore and attempt to throw some snow showers our way early Monday but other than that nothing major on the horizon.
