Tom Brady's Foot Injury

BOSTON (CBS) - As far as any reports that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady may have broken his foot either just prior to or during last week's playoff game with the Jets, sources tell WBZ-TV that Brady did not suffer an acute injury during or before the 28-21 loss in the AFC Divisional round.

Brady was dealing with a "stress injury or fracture" to his foot that "got aggravated during the season," the sources said.

They also pointed out that Brady felt better this past week than he had at almost any point during the season.

Following the team's 38-14 loss to the Cleveland Browns in November, the Patriots listed their quarterback on their practice participation report with a foot injury. He was limited during the week, but threw for 350 yards and three touchdowns against the Steelers the following Sunday.

Brady was forced to scramble constantly in Sunday's loss to the Jets, avoiding a New York pass rush that harassed him all day. He was sacked five times.

If the foot injury was a problem, it did not seem to slow Brady down during the season. He led the NFL with 36 touchdowns and a passer rating of 111, and is the front runner to win his second NFL MVP award.

WBZ-TV's Dan Roche contributed to this report.
