Tom Brady's Lawyers File More Papers In DeflateGate Suit vs NFL

NEW YORK (AP) — Tom Brady's attorneys filed more papers Friday in U.S. District Court in his lawsuit to overturn his four-game suspension by the NFL for his role in the use of deflated footballs in the AFC championship game.

Lawyers for the star quarterback of the Patriots stressed in their memorandum of law that the league is attempting to misdirect the court and "at every turn, the NFL misstates the record."

Judge Richard Berman has instructed both sides to attempt to reach a settlement, and to tone down rhetoric in the case.

There apparently was little progress last Wednesday when Brady and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell appeared in Berman's court.

Goodell upheld the suspension when Brady appealed, leading to the suit.

Both sides are due in court again next Wednesday.
