'Thunderbumpers'

Downpours and lightning/thunder are lighting up our Doppler radar this morning.  These heavy thunderstorms will create downpours through mid-morning.

These showers and thunderstorms will become less numerous later this afternoon, but there will still be a few showers around and possibly a spot storm across our western and southwestern viewing area (from Worcester to points south). Highs are going to range from the upper 50s near the coast to as mild as the lower and middle 60s for many inland locales.  Southeast winds will blow from 6-12 mph.

Cinco de Mayo...Fog, mist and drizzle will greet you during the morning hours, but we can expect a gradual improvement as the afternoon turns into evening. Skies will begin to clear from the northwest to the southeast.  The Cape and Islands can expect a cloudy day overall.  Highs will be ~60F nearest the coast to as mild as the middle and upper 60s inland.

Sunday will be the pick day for the weekend as high pressure begins to make its mark. An shortwave dives from the northwest to southeast furing the afternoon, but with the stable, dry airmass around the region, I'm expecting mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Highs will climb to a more normal range of 65-70F!

The beginning of next week will bring sunshine and mild high temps around 70F on Monday. Then, our next chance of rain moves in late-day Tuesday through the middle part of the week.

*Although there will be clouds around, especially near the coast, Saturday night is the Full 'Flower' Moon...Supermoon...appearing 30% brighter and 14% larger to the naked eye.

Happy FRRRiday! Have a fantastic weekend!

~Melissa :)
