Three NH Men Arrested In Sawed-Off Shotgun Robberies
MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) -- Three New Hampshire men were arrested Friday morning after police say they took part in a rash of armed robberies in Manchester last fall.
James Karahalios, 30, and Matthew Karahalios, 26, both of Manchester, and Patrick Chasse, 21, of Hooksett, are facing several federal charges.
Police say the three used a sawed-off shotgun to rob the TD Banknorth on Bay Street, the Spring Hill Suites on Perimeter Road, the Super 8 Motel on Brown Avenue, and the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Hooksett Road. They say the men used a knife to rob the Hess Gas Station on Massabesic Street.
All of the robberies took place between September 23 and November 14. At the pharmacy the suspects got away with prescription pills, at the other locations the robbers got money.
The FBI, ATF and US Attorney's Office joined Manchester Police in the investigation.
