Three Men Held Without Bail In Connection With Roxbury Shooting, I-93 Pursuit
BOSTON (CBS) - Three men are being held without bail on charges they shot and killed a man in his car on Southampton Street in Roxbury Wednesday night.
Shakeem Johnson, 22, Jaquan Hill, 19, and a 15-year-old were arrested Wednesday night on murder and firearms charges after police heard a gunshot and saw a car take off from the scene and get on I-93 South.
All three have residences in Hyde Park, though Hill was booked with a Brockton address and the 15-year-old was booked with a Mattapan address.
State Police chased the silver Nissan they were driving and boxed them in before ordering them out of the car with guns drawn.
Prosecutors told the judge at the arraignment hearing that while the victim was stopped in traffic on Southampton Street, another vehicle stopped a few car lengths behind the victim's and a person exited.
That person walked through traffic, approached the victim's car, and fired multiple shots into it before returning to the car and climbing into its back seat, prosecutors say.
The Southeast Expressway was closed while police searched for evidence from the fatal shooting.
The victim died at Boston Medical Center. Police have not identified him, saying only it is a man in his 20's.
