Thornton With Toucher & Rich: Team Is Staying Focused

The Bruins closed out November with a 6-3 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. The B's went 12-0-1 this month making this the first time the team has gone without a regulation loss since January 1969.

Bruins forward Shawn Thornton talked with Toucher & Rich about the team's success, the three year contract extension of David Krejci and Zdeno Chara's shot.

The Bruins have played the Leafs twice so far this season and the B's have come out on top both times. On Wednesday night Toronto went up early, but Boston was able to take control and walk away with the two points. This Toronto team has been playing some of there best hockey and before the loss on Wednesday they were at the top of their division. What have the Bruins seen out of this Leafs team that they have not seen in the past?

"They're fast and they get going on offense real quick. Any turnovers if you don't get pucks in deep they're going the other way. They're pretty creative with the puck and they make a lot of things happen with it," Thornton said.

With the run of success this team is having how tough will it be to keep the young guys focused?

"We did a really good job of being able to just focus on every game not what happened over the course of whatever amount of time. This year hasn't been any different," the forward said.

Tim Thomas made a key stop when he denied Phil Kessel who managed to get the puck on a breakaway. What is etiquette for defensemen after a bad giveaway like that?

"Never mind Thomas, our line was on the ice for like...we were in their zone for like 50 seconds until that happened, I was losing it," Thornton joked.

"We talked to Seids (Dennis Seidenberg), Seids felt bad. The puck took a bad hop right when it got to him and he couldn't control it. Those things happen in a game, but I was giving him a hard time light heartily. It's all fine if Timmy stops it right, so no harm no foul," Thornton said.

They went on to talk about Zdeno Chara's huge shot and how he's getting pucks on net and scoring goals. The guys wondered how are players expected to get in front of his shot and tip it.

"My first or second year here he hit me in the chest, I literally had to take a pain killing needle the next game to get through the game because my chest was so sore from him hitting me right square in the middle...My life flashed before my eyes," said Thornton.

Plus find out if any of the players are superstitious and keeping their Movember moustache.
