Thornton Healthy Scratch For Bruins vs. Hurricanes
BOSTON (CBS) - Veteran forward Shawn Thornton was a healthy scratch for the Bruins Monday night against the Carolina Hurricanes, making way for Jordan Caron to see the ice for the first time in nine games.
Thornton had played in all 19 games this season lining up on Boston's fourth line next to Gregory Campbell and Daniel Paille. He has two goals and is a plus-two on the ice for the season.
Thornton was a healthy scratch just once last season.
Caron has one goal in nine games for Boston, and had not played since October 30 in a loss to Pittsburgh.
