Thieves Target Middleboro Churches
BOSTON (CBS) - A jar of change was among the items stolen from four churches targeted by thieves in Middleboro.
Police Sergeant Benjamin Mackiewicz says the suspects aren't taking expensive church artifacts, there going for small amounts of cash.

"Loose change, small bills, there was some vandalism that was done to some pantry areas," he said.
Pastor Bruce Smith of Central Congregational Church says someone used a crow bar to pry open a side door and rifle through the church.
He's asking his congregation to say a prayer for those responsible.
"We're not angry, we're not upset, we know that something terrible must have driven someone to do something like this so our feeling is compassion," he said.
