Thieves Stripping Tires From Cars Along Route 9 In Framingham
FRAMINGHAM (CBS) – Linda Shook of Framingham says that back in January she was on her way to work early in the morning.
When she came outside she noticed her brand new Honda was very low to the ground.
"And I looked and there were no tires and no rims on all four wheels," Shook said.
In the middle of the night thieves stole all four of her wheels.
"It was very frustrating and it was a new car and I felt terrible. I couldn't go to work," she said.
Framingham police say there have been several of these thefts up and down Route 9 in Framingham.
In the middle of the night thieves have been quickly stealing rims and wheels in large apartment parking lots.
Police say they appear to be targeting new Hondas. Residents have been warned by condo owners to be careful.
"This is the second car in this complex here in a seven-month period," Clyde Brown of Framingham said.
He is also a car dealer in Shrewsbury.
"It's demoralizing. A thief can take a set of wheels and put them on eBay or Craigslist, sell them and its quick money," Brown said.
Police are still looking for the thieves. Meanwhile folks like Clyde and Linda are keeping a close watch.
"I am out over $1,000 so far. That's a lot of money. Don't be hurting the small people," Shook said.
