Thieves Steal $20K In Equipment From Lynn Music Program
LYNN (CBS) -- More than $20,000 worth of musical instruments and technology were stolen from an after-school music program in Lynn.
Last week, Building Bridges Through Music co-founder Doreen Murray said she came to work and found a mess.
"There was a sea of glass all over the floor, the music room window had been completely shattered, glass everywhere," Murray told WBZ NewsRadio 1030.
Someone had taken laptops, musical instruments, flat screen televisions, and bass and electric guitars. The stolen equipment was all for underprivileged kids who wouldn't have the opportunity to use them otherwise.
But following the theft, complete strangers have come forward wanting to help out, Murray said.
"Since it happened, we don't stop, we continue," Murray said. "It makes us stronger, bolder, more determined."
A meeting is scheduled for Monday night in Lynn about the recent acts of vandalism in Central Square.
