'The Lowell Goat' Arrives In New Central Mass. Home
LOWELL (CBS) – He was on the lam for several weeks. But a Lowell goat with a social media following has a new home.
The lore of "The Lowell Goat" began on Dec. 29 when a man said he followed a stray goat through the city for over three hours.
A Twitter account was created under the handle @TheLowellGoat and the account quickly gained more than 1,000 followers.
On Jan. 26, Lowell police announced that the goat was captured in Westford.
The story came to an apparent close on Saturday as the Animal Rescue League of Boston tweeted that "Lowell" was moved to a permanent home in central Massachusetts.
Though the goat quickly became acclimated with his new neighbors, his Twitter account left another message after the move.
"Not digging new name, and the indifferent comments about the City of Lowell that were part of the name change," a tweet from @TheLowellGoat read on Saturday.
