The Cost Of The Ultimate World Series Experience At Fenway Park
BOSTON (CBS) - A Red Sox World Series at Fenway may seem priceless to big time fans. But enjoying the game does come at a cost.
Tickets for game 6 are now the most expensive in baseball history, averaging more than $2000 apiece.
They get a lot more expensive too. WBZ added up the cost of the ultimate fantasy experience for a trip to Fenway Wednesday night.
To watch the game like a VIP will cost thousands, starting with the seats. A pair of tickets in a dugout box was selling for $11,000 each on Stub Hub.
At the team store, fans are snatching up gear. A Red Sox winter coat, World Series sweatshirt, baseball cap and fake beard added up to $410.
Some fans will spend the night in style. The Ritz Carlton is almost completely booked for the game. One of the last available rooms is the Presidential Suite.
At a cool $6000 per night, guests will stay in a suite with panoramic views of the city, including a telescope pointed at Fenway. The room also is outfitted in Red Sox paraphernalia and includes a beer cart filled with local brews.
Finally, a limo ride for two from the hotel to the game will run $220. It all adds up to the experience of a lifetime and a total tab of $17,630.
