The 'Calm' Begins
The worst is all said and done. We had thousands of reports of power outages, wind damage, and some coastal flooding. However, the brunt of the storm was felt from NYC to the Mid-Atlantic states where it continues to be debilitating. 'Sandy' made landfall around 8pm last night as a post-tropical storm with 80mph winds near Atlantic City, NJ. Today will be a gradual improvement from morning 'til night. Sky cover will remain mostly cloudy with bands of rain wrapping around the northeastern quadrant of this massive storm. The rainfall will reach .25-.50" for the area with isolated amounts closer to .75-1.0" possible. Highs will be on the mild side in the middle to upper 60s.
Halloween (Wednesday) will include a few morning showers followed by some clearing to allow for some sun throughout the day. Highs will be mild again the middle 60s. Winds will be calmer but still on the breezy side.
Thursday, the beginning of November, will be partly sunny with a slight chance of a brief afternoon shower due to the upper level trough. Highs will be cooler in the upper 50s.
Friday will be the pick day of the week with partly cloudy skies. It'll be breezy with high temps in the middle 50s.
The first weekend of November will be a quiet one thankfully. Saturday will be partly cloudy with temperatures only topping off in the lower 50s. Then, Sunday will be sunny with highs in the middle 50s. Technically-speaking, these high temps are right on par with the averages for early November.
