The Adam Jones Show: Was Peavy The Best The Sox Could Do?
The Red Sox made a deal late Tuesday night then were quiet through the day leading up to the trade deadline Wednesday at 4pm.
In the deal Boston made they acquired starting pitcher Jake Peavy from the Chicago White Sox, while sending Jose Iglesias to Detroit as the other main player in the deal.
The Red Sox also acquired Bryan Villareal from the Tigers and traded away minor league pitchers J.B. Wendelken and Francelis Montas and infielder Cleuluis Rondon to the White Sox, while the Tigers sent Avisail Garcia to the White Sox.
Adam Jones takes a look at the deal and start off looking at Jake Peavy. Jones admitted that he's not a fan of the starting pitcher, but the Sox didn't have to give up much to get him.
Was this the best pitching the Sox could have gotten with what they were willing to give up? What does it tell you about how the Sox felt about Jose Iglesias trading him in the division?
