Bruins Plus/Minus After Road Win Over Rangers
BOSTON (CBS) - Adam Jones connected with Dave Goucher and Bob Beers of the Boston Bruins Radio Network after a nice road win over the New York Rangers Tuesday night.
Tuukka Rask started in net for the second time in as many nights in what was his most active game of the season. Rask stopped 43 of 44 shots and spoiled the return of Rick Nash to the Rangers en route to a 2-1 Bruins win.
Adam Jones weighed in and highlighted the three best and three worst storylines following the game in a new segment called 'Plus/Minus'.
Pluses:
1. Tuukka Rask had a season-high 43 saves and only allowed 1 goal. It's the 11th time out of 18 performances this season that he's allowed one goal or less.
2. Shawn Thornton: After a healthy scratch Monday night in Carolina, the tough guy fourth-liner chipped in with a second period goal, a high-glove wrister on Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist.
3. Dan Paille's shorthanded goal, which gave the Bruins a 2-0 lead.
Minuses:
1. Ineffective power play: 0-3 on the night, with all of those chances coming in the second period. A flat night for the Bruins offense all around.
2. Brad Marchand: Even though he had an assist it wasn't the best night for the B's agitator. A cross-checking penalty landed him in the box, but the Bruins were able to kill it off.
3. Dennis Seidenberg: The defenseman played only one shift and it was revealed after the game that he has a lower body injury. It had a trickle down effect on the defensive pairings, with Zdeno Chara having to play 31.5 minutes.
