The Adam Jones Show: Bruins End Mini-Slump In Tim Thomas' Homecoming
BOSTON (CBS) - Dave Goucher and Bob Beers of the Boston Bruins Radio Network called in to The Adam Jones Show after their 4-1 win over the Florida Panthers.
Losers of four out of their past five heading into tonight, the Bruins seemed to have broke out of their mini-slump and improved to 9-5-1 on the young season.
David Krejci scored the game's first goal in the second period, but it was Brad Marchand, Torey Krug and Reilly Smith each with goals of their own in the final period that really broke the game open.
Marchand ended a month-long scoring drought with his wrist shot goal four minutes into the third period. It was his first goal since game two of the regular season.

Former player and color analyst for the Bruins Bob Beers says it's a step in the right direction even though it didn't look pretty at times.
"They did what they were supposed to do," said Beers. "You have to win the games you're supposed to win. They did that tonight. More than that, it's a good game to take a step in the right direction in terms of what they need to do in order to be successful against other teams."
What really impressed Beers though was the team effort and contributions from all four lines.
"They got goals from three different lines and I thought the fourth line contributed in the shifts that they were out there. The defensemen got involved in the offense, four different defensemen getting points. Rask another solid game in net. They got better defensively as the game went on, and all in all the Bruins got better as the game went on."
Of course, Adam Jones would be remiss if he didn't mention the Tim Thomas homecoming. He wasn't in uniform due to injury, but the TD Garden crowd gave Thomas a standing ovation when his highlight reel tribute played during a TV timeout in the third period.
Adam Jones gave his thoughts on Thomas, admitting things worked out just fine for the B's.
"The goaltender that the Bruins wound up with is pretty good. Twenty-three saves in net tonight for Tuukka Rask. For most fans, maybe you don't totally forget what happened with Tim Thomas at the end, but I think most fans have moved on and have forgiven him. We saw that tonight."
