Thanksgiving Travel Week Forecast: Quiet

BOSTON (CBS) - Just about everyone is traveling somewhere next week and thankfully it looks like the weather is going to be very cooperative.

In fact, quiet weather is expected not just in New England but across the majority of the country.

MONDAY

New England: Mainly sunny and pleasant, near 50, winds nearly calm

Elsewhere: A giant ocean storm will be forming well east of the Carolinas and will likely mean some gusty winds and perhaps some rain near the coastline there.  The only weather of note will be some rain and snow in the Pacific Northwest from northern California to Seattle, otherwise expect quiet and near normal temperatures across the U.S.

TUESDAY

New England: Tons of sunshine, very light winds and seasonal temperatures in the low 50's.

Elsewhere: The ocean storm moves east, away from the East Coast, just making the seas a bit rough. Dry and cool along the entire East Coast and eastern half of the U.S.  The Pacific Northwest continues to be the only active weather location with rain and snow continuing there.

WEDNESDAY

New England: A weak disturbance may slide just to our north early in the day adding just a bit of cloud cover in the morning and dropping temps a few degrees, high near 50.

Elsewhere: A cold front cuts through the upper Midwest, mostly a dry front, but delivering a shot of very cold air into the upper Midwest and the Dakotas. More rain and snow in Oregon and Washington. Elsewhere and for the majority of the country, seasonal and dry.

THANKSGIVING

New England: A cold front approaches western New England late in the day, drawing in slightly milder air ahead of it, partly sunny, 50-55.

Elsewhere: Very quiet for turkey day just for just about the entire U.S.  There's a chance of a shower in northern Texas, a few flurries in northern Minnesota and some rain for Seattle.

BLACK FRIDAY

New England: Slight shower risk as a cold front slides through without much fanfare. Some sun, 50's.

Elsewhere: More rain, snow showers in the Pacific Northwest.  A cold blast for the upper Midwest, likely headed our way for the weekend.
