Tewksbury Boy Sings Elvis, Sinatra
SAUGUS (CBS) - From the King to Old Blue Eyes, 4-year old Cameron Barilone only performs the classics.
The Tewksbury preschooler sang at his first paid gig Sunday afternoon to a packed room at Kowloon Restaurant in Saugus.
Barilone started singing at nursing homes with his dad Joe, who is an entertainer.
WBZ-TV's Alana Gomez reports.
"His grandmother's van she had a cassette of the Everly Brothers and little did I know he basically learned every song on the cassette," said Joe.
His son's talents surprised him since doctors expected early medical complications to slow Cameron down.
Joe says Cameron had seizures as a toddler and that he was expected to have developmentally delayed issues growing up.
So far, Cameron has exceeded their expectations and continued to pursue his passion for the spotlight.
Cameron's favorite song is "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash.
At Kowloon, he performed his first set in a mini Elvis costume and dressed as Frank Sinatra for the second part.
"He is I think, going to become the new face for oldies," said his dad Joe.
