Teenager Shot Wednesday In Charlestown Dies
BOSTON (CBS) -- A teenager shot Wednesday night in Charlestown has died, police said Sunday.
Ryan Morrissey, 17, and 19-year-old Jamie Lawton were shot in the 200 block of Main Street, officials said. Morrissey was pronounced dead at Massachusetts General Hospital and Lawton was released from the hospital on Friday.
Friends say Morrissey was passionate about hockey and had a zest for life.
"If you were down, he'd be the one who'd pick you up," said friend Zac Leavitt at a growing memorial for Morrissey in Charlestown Sunday night.
No one has been arrested in the shooting yet and Boston police say they are actively investigating. Friends say Morrissey was just an innocent victim caught in the crossfire.
"We just want it to end. We don't want to lose any more friends," said Pat Sullivan, a friend of Morrissey. "I considered him one of my brothers, even though we weren't related."
