Teen Tied Up During Home Invasion In Andover
ANDOVER (CBS) - Police are trying to track down a man who broke into a home and tied up a 16-year-old girl.
It happened in the 200 block of North Main Street on Friday before noon. The teenager had only been home alone for a half an hour.
"Not in Andover. Not in Andover. You don't expect anything like this," reflected the victim's father.
The victim's father didn't wish to be identified, but tells WBZ the suspect entered through an unlocked garage.
The teenage girl said the suspect told her, "I need you to stay calm."
"He just said 'cash' and then struggled for a bit. They struggled and eventually he got her hands duct taped," said the victim's father.
The suspect tied her to a kitchen chair, duct taping her ankles and mouth.
"It's still pretty horrifying," said the victim's father.
The teenager's mother and brother soon returned home and the suspect ran out the front door.
Police believe he broke into another home on Harding Street later that day, stealing clothing.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s or 30s between 5-foot 7-inches and 5-foot 10-inches tall and of medium build.
"I think that we take one small step at a time because there's no getting around the fact that it happened... It will be with her forever. It will be with all of us forever," said the victim's father.
