Prosecutors allege that 18-year-old Aaron Deveau was texting on February 20, 2011 when his car smashed into one driven by Donald Bowley, killing the New Hampshire father of three and seriously injuring Bowley's girlfriend.

On the stand Tuesday, Deveau denied sending a text message while behind the wheel.

Deveau, who was 17 at the time, testified he started texting that day around 640 a.m., and sent a final text message while sitting in the parking lot after he left work.

He then said he put the phone on his seat and began driving and did not pick up the cell phone until "after the accident to call my parents."

Prosecutors argue that cell phone records indicate he was texting at the time.

Deveau maintains he was not distracted by his cell at time of crash. Instead, he said he was worried about his homework.

Deveau's testimony concluded after a few minutes.

Deliberations will resume Wednesday.
