Teen Recognizes Home Invader As Former Coach, Police Say
WORCESTER (CBS) -- A teenager assaulted in a Worcester home invasion says he recognized his masked attacker as his old basketball coach, police say.
The Worcester Telegram & Gazette reports that Jesse G. Ouellet, 33, is being held without bail on charges including home invasion, armed robbery and armed assault.
Police say that on Nov. 11, Ouellet burst into an apartment on Henderson Avenue, firing a round into the ceiling and butting a 17-year-old in the face with a shotgun. Marijuana and about $500 was stolen from the teenager, authorities said.
The victim recognized the partly masked man as his former basketball coach and father of his 16-year-old friend, who had been in the apartment before the invasion, according to The Telegram.
Ouellet's aunt told the newspaper that he worked as a basketball coach for teens with a private organization "a while ago."
Ouellet will be held without bail for at least four months because prosecutors are concerned he could go after the witnesses, The Telegram reports.
