Teen Arrested For Leading Police On Chase From Salem, N.H. To Lowell

METHUEN (CBS) -- A New Hampshire teen was arrested after leading police on a pursuit overnight from Salem, New Hampshire to downtown Lowell.

Methuen Police said they are charging Jeremiah Remy, 19, of Atkinson, N.H. with ten motor vehicle violations, including operating with suspended license, operating recklessly to endanger, speeding, and failure to stop for police.

He will also face several charges in Salem, N.H., including four counts of 2nd degree assault.

Salem Police attempted to serve Remy with a probation violation warrant around 10 p.m. Tuesday night. He fled the hotel as they approached, and jumped in a white pickup truck.

When Salem police approached the truck, they said Remy drove at the officers, who had to jump out of the way to avoid being struck.

Remy fled down I-93 into Methuen, then exited at the Route 110 rotary.

The pursuit ended in downtown Lowell, where Remy was arrested.

No Methuen officers or civilians were hurt, but Methuen Police said it wasn't yet clear whether or not officers in other departments were injured or rammed during the chase.

Remy is expected to be arraigned Wednesday in Lawrence District Court.
