Teen hit, killed on I-93
State police are investigating after a teenager was hit and killed by a car on Interstate 93 in Braintree.
Police say the 16-year-old Randolph boy - whose name was not released - was attempting to cross the highway on foot with another young person at about 11 p.m. on Wednesday. Authorities say they made it across the southbound lanes but one of them was struck by the vehicle in the middle lane of the northbound side.
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
No charges have been filed against the driver.
The roadway was closed for about three hours after the incident.
