Taunton Soldier Killed In Motorcycle Crash At Fort Bragg
TAUNTON (CBS) -- A Taunton soldier has died following a Nov. 12 motorcycle crash at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, officials told the Army Times on Monday.
24-year-old Aaron Cordoba-Martinez died on Nov. 14. He served as an infantryman with the 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne at the US military installation.
The paratrooper joined the Army in November 2014, the Army Times reports. He received several awards including the Army Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, and the Parachutist Badge, the Army Times adds.
He leaves behind a wife, stepdaughter, and parents.
His funeral service is scheduled for Monday at 9 a.m. at the Silva Funeral Home on Broadway in Taunton, according to the Taunton Gazette obituary. A funeral mass is slated to follow at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Taunton.
Calling hours are set for 3-to-6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
