Tanker Truck Crash Triggers Fuel Spill In Dorchester
DORCHESTER (CBS) - A huge fuel spill caused several problems in Dorchester early Friday morning.

An 11,000 gallon Sunoco fuel tanker truck ran over the base of a street light fixture, rupturing two of its tanks on Dorchester Avenue by Freeport Street around 11:15 p.m. Thursday, triggering the spill.
It appears the driver had a problem turning a corner.
The Boston fire department said the tanker had 5 separate sections, but only 2 were affected in the crash. One part holds 2,000 gallons of fuel, the other 1,800 gallons.
About 1,000 gallons of fuel leaked. Some of it ran into nearby storm drains. A large vacuum truck was brought in to clean several manholes on Dorchester Avenue.
The leak was stopped around 1:15 a.m., but the cleanup took several hours.
The truck was removed around 5:30 a.m. and roads were re-opened about a half-hour later.
No one was hurt, but police went door-to-door-to evacuate nearby dozens of residents temporarily as a precaution.
Citations will be issued to the driver. There's no word yet on how much the cleanup cost.
