Talib Practices With Patriots; Welker, Mankins Sit Out
BOSTON (CBS) - Corner Aqib Talib practiced with the Patriots for the first time on Wednesday.
Talib, acquired on deadline day from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, sported the number-31 as he hit the field with his new team. The Pats practiced outdoors in shells and shorts as they prepare for Sunday's matchup with the Indianapolis Colts at Gillette.
Head coach Bill Belichick reiterated the Patriots will try to get Talib caught up in time for Sunday's game.
"He's been in here every day. Three days in a row he's been in here early, working hard, trying to get caught up," Belichick said prior to practice. "We'll see how it goes."
Tale Of The Tape: Patriots-Colts
While Talib practiced, receiver Wes Welker and offensive linemen Logan Mankins and Dan Connolly did not.
Mankins left Sunday's win over the Bills after suffering an ankle injury in the second half, and was seen in a walking boot following the game. Connolly was listed on the report with a back injury.
