'T' To Shut Down Trolley Service From North Station To Lechmere
BOSTON (CBS) - For the next seven months, the MBTA will be shutting down trolley service on the Green Line from North Station to Lechmere.
From April 30 - November 2011, the MBTA will bus passengers between North Station and Lechmere. The buses will not stop at Science Park during peak traffic times, but will make stops there all other hours.
Buses will leave every 5-10 minutes and the ride between stops will take 10-20 minutes overall.
The MBTA says the closure will shorten the construction time, enhance passenger and pedestrian safety and reduce excess costs and noise.
