T Police Search For Suspect Accused Of Throwing Hot Tea On Dunkin Donuts Employee
BOSTON (CBS) -- The MBTA police released images of a woman they are looking for in connection with attacking another woman.
The woman is all smiles in the surveillance images, but the worker she's accused of attacking has a different impression.
"It makes me so mad," said Jeanette, the woman who was attacked.
Jeanette, who did not want her last name used, serves drinks and pastries at the Dunkin Donuts by the Dudley T-station in Roxbury.
In the year and half she has worked there, nothing prepared her for how she was treated almost two weeks ago, on Nov. 14.
"We have all types of people who come in here - good people, bad people. But I never expect that," said Jeanette.
It started when the woman customer ordered tea and some of the tea escaped the bag.
"She thought it was a fly. I told her it wasn't. She wanted her money back. I tried to give her (the) money, but she refused. She just wanted to do a drama," said Jeanette.
Another employee served a replacement tea. The woman promptly hurled the cup and the scalding drink at Jeanette – burning her below her collarbone.
"I didn't expect her to do that," said Jeanette.
MBTA police describe her burns as substantial. They even called an ambulance for her.
T officers are still searching for the suspect, but Jeannette would rather never see her again.
The woman faces a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon- the hot liquid.
