Swastikas Found In Worcester State University Classroom For Third Time In 2 Months
WORCESTER (AP) — A swastika was found drawn in a Worcester State University building for the third time since early last month.
The graffiti was found in a classroom on the third floor of the Learning Resource Center and reported by a university staff member on Tuesday, a day after the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
"This behavior will not be tolerated on this campus nor by any member of the Worcester State community as we will continue to educate our community on what is appropriate, respectful conduct for all people," university president Barry Maloney said in a statement.
The graffiti is being investigated by university police who are working with Massachusetts State Police.
A university employee reported on Dec. 6 that swastikas were drawn on the door of the third-floor men's restroom in the Learning Resource Center. Swastikas were reported again on Dec. 9 o in the same building. The graffiti and pen markings were identical in both cases, the Telegram & Gazette reported.
