Patient With Suspected Ebola In Stable Condition At Mass General
BOSTON (CBS) – A patient with suspected Ebola virus was admitted to Mass General Hospital Tuesday afternoon.
The hospital says the patient being treated meets the Centers for Disease Control criteria of having traveled to an area where Ebola is present, exposure to Ebola and of now showing potential symptoms of the virus.
The patient is now in a specially prepared area of the hospital and diagnostic testing is underway.
"The patient is in stable condition and in good spirits," Dr. Paul D. Biddinger of Mass General Hospital said Tuesday night.

The patient arrived at about 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, and was already being monitored by the Boston Public Health Commission.
A diagnosis of Ebola has not been confirmed, and it could take days for test results to come back.
"We feel extremely confident that all of our patients, all of our staff, all of our visitors are perfectly safe," Dr. Biddinger said. "There is no concern no matter what the outcome of this clinical investigation will be."
The hospital says they are taking actions recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
No details have been released about the patient.
In October, state health officials said several suspected Ebola patients were treated in Massachusetts, but the deadly virus was ruled out in each case.
