Suspect In Mass. Child Murder Is Up For Parole
DALLAS, TX (CBS) - A man long suspected in the murder of a 9-year-old Wayland, Massachusetts girl is up for parole.
When Sarah Pryor vanished in 1985, John Whirty was considered the prime suspect. But, he has never been charged. Small pieces of Pryor's remains were recovered in 1998.
At the time of the murder, Whirty was out on parole and living in Sherborn. He was eventually sent back to prison on an assault conviction and a parole violation.
The now 66-year-old Whirty is serving time for the 1967 murder of a teenage girl in Texas.
