Marsh pleaded not guilty as he hid behind a wall during his arraignment in Middlesex Superior Court.

Wyman, who was 29, was killed during a suspected robbery at the Town Line Motel in Malden on August 22, 1983.

The case went cold due to a lack of evidence.

But prosecutors say new advanced testing on fingerprints found at the crime scene matched Marsh's fingerprints.

"It is alleged that the defendant and another suspect broke into the victim's hotel room with the intention of robbing the victim and his roommate. It is alleged that the two intruders shot the victim upon entering the room. It is further alleged that the defendant and second suspect attempted to remove items from the hotel room which resulted in the defendant leaving fingerprints behind at the scene," Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone said in a statement.
