Sunless for a Couple of Days...

What a day...weather was pretty good, sox win, great marathon...maybe we can keep this going tonight with a big B's Win...just maybe!  As far as the weather goes, it is all down hill from here, clouds are thickening and sprinkles are falling now and we will see periods of rain over the next couple of days.

Currently, there is a very large temperature contrast from the northern states to the southern ones...in the middle is the battle zone and that battle zone will be right over us through the middle of the week.  This is known as a baroclinic zone and storms fuel off of this temp contrast.  This time around there won't be any one large storm but several smaller ones delivering periods of steady rain.  The first will move through tonight...most, if not all of the rain will be light as the air is still very dry but this system will prime the air for steadier rain tomorrow afternoon with the next impulse.  By then the wind direction will have shifted from that gusty west direction (that led to all the records at the marathon today) to a NE wind which will create very raw conditions the next couple of days.  On Wednesday, a warmfront will be in the area in the morning...more showers but it will try to lift north during the day which should lead to slightly milder and less rainy conditions.  By evening though the coldfront will be marching east and likely firing off some showers perhaps a thunderstorm or two if we get into the warm sector...which by the way is a slim chance.

Strong NW winds will take over for Thursday that will get us the sun back but the air will stay relatively chilly with highs Thursday and Friday in the mid 50s.
