Summer Returns...

After a few splendid Autumn-like days with overnight lows in the 40s and daytime highs in the 60s and 70s, summer warmth will surge back in to Southern New England to finish the workweek.  Surface high pressure will crest over us tonight setting the stage for return flow to develop, advecting in 80+ degree warmth.  SW winds will take over late tonight preventing a repeat of the chilly 40s and that SW wind will allow for towns north and west of I-95 to reach and surpass 80 in several spots tomorrow.  SE Mass locals will see tempered temps in the 75-80 degree range.

850mb temps will back ff just a bit for Friday and wind may flirt with more of an onshore direction so this should hold temps down a bit in a few spots but still a lovely day with highs either side of 80 with a little cloudiness working in for later in the day out ahead of an approaching coldfront, but generally sunny.

That coldfront will work through early Saturday morning.  Along I expect a skinny line of showers to bring us a small amount of rain later Friday night and early Saturday morning...I don't see much more than that with very dry air in place.  By midday Saturday, behind the front, NW winds will pick up and clear us out leaving us with beautiful conditions for the rest of the weekend.  Lots of sun and temps closer to 70 degrees Saturday afternoon and all of Sunday!
