Summer on Hold...

One day in and Summer has taken a mini vacation.  Today, the rain came in early and was steady all afternoon and soaking this evening.  Many towns have picked up close to 1" already and this is only round one of several over the next few days.

A warmfront is draped to our south, warm, moist air is flowing up and over it producing a steady slug of rain with a few imbedded thunderstorms.  This front will be in the same spot, more or less, through Saturday morning.  There is a slight chance that it may drift north on Friday which could pop some warm sector thunderstorms over SE Mass Friday evening, so we'll be watching for the potential for severe weather.

The upper level trough will slide overhead on Saturday this will once again spark showers and thunderstorms after a little brightening.  Finally by Sunday, enough dry air will have worked in just behind the surface coldfront allowing for a lot more sunshine and warmer temps and that fair Summer weather will last into early next week.
