Sudbury Soldier's Remains Coming Home, Funeral Planned
SUDBURY (CBS) -- The remains of 1st Lt. Scott Milley of Sudbury will arrive at Hanscom Air Force Base Thursday morning.
Lt. Milley was killed in Afghanistan last week. The 23-year-old was assigned to the US Army's 10th Mountain Division. His father, Steven Milley, told WBZ his son was on a patrol and took small arms fire.
Calling hours for Lt. Milley will be Friday from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Lincoln Sudbury High School Auditorium.
A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the same location with a burial at New Town Cemetery following the service.
Scott Milley was a 2005 graduate of Lincoln-Sudbury High School where he was captain of the hockey team.
His father said his son went on to the University of New Hampshire where he was a member of the university's ROTC program. He graduated cum laude, while earning a degree in psychology.
Lt. Milley was the first Sudbury resident to be killed in Afghanistan.
