Stuck...

It's only day two of the gloom and many are already asking when the sun is coming back.  When you get into patterns like this one they seem to go on and on and on...and actually, this one will.  I really don't see much improvement until Sunday, and even then it will be tough to burn the clouds off and get bright sunshine.

Tomorrow will be very similar to today with mostly cloudy skies and very little if any rain.  There may be a shower or two around in the morning from some fading thunderstorms that develop in the Ohio valley but other than that it will just be heavy cloud and no rain.  On Friday, a warmfront will approach...Summer warmth will get very close to new England but will fail it getting in here...we stay chilly in the 50s.  That boundary between the warm and the cold will be active with showers developing on it and maybe even some thunderstorm activity too.  Thus heavier showers are likely on Friday.  The front will then slide south of New England as a wave of low pressure develops along it south of Long Island and once again establishes the onshore wind component and we should see a day a lot like today on Saturday with cloudy, cool and damp conditions.

Finally by Sunday, dry air will be working down from Canada and we will incorporate intervals of sunshine into the forecast to finish up the weekend.  I'm still a little pessimistic on Sunday though as I don't think we will see a full clear...the wind looks more NNE and not NW which would clear us out completely so many may be frustrated with the lack of sunshine again.
